Job summary

Sage Hospitality Group presents a line cook opportunity at HELLO BETTY Bethesda. The role requires 1–2 years of kitchen experience and a high school diploma or equivalent, with strong cooking knowledge to ensure quality and efficient service.

Responsibilities include following recipes, sanitation adherence, and supporting line setup and cost control, while contributing to a great guest experience in a dynamic hotel restaurant setting.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
• Knowledge of cooking and the practices and procedures of a kitchen to perform non-repetitive analytical work.

Responsibilities

• Check all items against the recipe cards, verify that use records are followed and that food is presented in a quality manner.
• Monitor the line set up prior to all meal functions to ensure maximum efficiency during meal periods.
• Maintain the kitchen 'clean as you go' policy to ensure strict adherence.
• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
• Start food items prepared ahead of time, avoiding over-preparation.
• Date and rotate all food containers and keep perishables properly temped.
• Check pars for shift use and plan necessary preparation and line setup.
• Note any out-of-stock items or potential shortages.
• Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
• Return all unused items to storage with cover/date for perishables.
• Assist in planning actions to control food costs and waste.
