Job summary

Kimpton Fort Lauderdale Beach, part of HEI Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a kitchen team member to prepare food of consistent quality and assist in daily kitchen functions. You will follow recipes, manage prep, and support service during shifts.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Dexterity to operate food machinery.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
• Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, ensuring not to over-prepare.
• Date all food containers and rotate per HEI standards, keeping perishables properly cooled.
• Check pars for shift use, assist in keeping buffet stocked and manage shortages.
• Return unused items to designated storage areas with proper date/covering.
• Assist in plans to correct food cost problems and reduce waste; comply with HEI standards.
