The Embassy Suites Washington D.C. Georgetown is seeking an AM/PM Line Cook to join their culinary team. The cook will prepare food items in accordance with recipes and established standards, contributing to outstanding service and profitability. The role requires availability evenings, weekends, holidays; banquet assistance as needed.

The position supports high-volume service, maintains station cleanliness, and adheres to food safety regulations while working with a cohesive culinary team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous culinary experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Frequently standing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Evenings, weekends and holidays availability required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards.
• Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products.
• Stock and maintain designated food station(s).
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
• Visually inspect all food from the kitchen.
• Measure ingredients according to recipes.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen and prep areas after shift.
• Store food items at proper temperatures and handle safely.

The cook will prepare food items in accordance with recipes and established standards, contributing to outstanding service and profitability. The role requires availability evenings, weekends, holidays; banquet assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
• Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
• Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
• Stock and maintain designated food station(s)
• Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor
• Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
• Measure out meal ingredients according to a recipe
• Clean up the kitchen space after cooking each meal and ensure the prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of the shift
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
• Practice correct food handling and storage procedures per federal, state, local, and company regulations

• Frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
• Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Will be required to work a flexible schedule: evenings 2:30 pm–11:00 pm, weekends, and holidays
