Job summary

Embassy Suites Georgetown in Washington, DC is seeking an AM/PM Line Cook to join our culinary team. You will prepare food items per recipes, maintain sanitation, and manage guest orders with a focus on quality and consistency.

The role supports both restaurant and banquet service, with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. Ideal candidates will have culinary experience, English fluency and the ability to work across various stations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous culinary experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
• Flexible schedule evenings 2:30pm–11:00pm, weekends and holidays.
• Standing up, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards.
• Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products.
• Stock and maintain designated food station(s).
• Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen.
• Measure out meal ingredients according to a recipe.
• Clean up the kitchen space after cooking each meal and sanitize prep area and kitchen.
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures.
• Adhere to federal, state, local, and company food handling and storage regulations.

Description

The Embassy Suites Georgetown is seeking a AM/PM Line Cook to join their culinary team! A Cook is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for producing quality meals (in both the restaurant and banquets), as well as the availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Additionally, you will assist with banquet service as needed, ensuring smooth operations during events.

Responsibilities

• Will be required to work a flexible schedule evenings shift 2:30pm to 11:00pm, weekends, and holidays.
