Job summary

Treasure Island Beach Resort is seeking a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will set up the station, prep and cook items to order, and help maintain a clean, safe workspace in line with our standards.

Prior prep or line cook experience is a plus; High School diploma welcomed but not required. You will follow recipes, assist with inventory after service, and support the chef and sous chef as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED a plus but not required.
• Previous experience a plus.
• A thorough and deep understanding of professional cooking including basic techniques and working food knowledge.
• Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
• Previous prep or line cook experience.
• Professional communications skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the station in time for service according to restaurant guidelines
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the chef or restaurant
• Restocks all items as needed throughout the shift and is responsible for taking inventory after service
• Cleans and maintains stations in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills
• Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
• Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef, and Sous Chef at any time
