Job summary

Hollywood Casino St. Louis is seeking a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will reports to the Sous Chef, prep and cook menu items, and maintain high standards of quality and speed on the hot line.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years kitchen experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ServSafe certification. Candidates must be 18+ and able to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of related kitchen experience.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word).
• Able to read and write English; good verbal skills.
• ServSafe certification required.
• Physically able to push/pull/lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Sous Chef at start of shift to receive instruction on daily specials and menu changes.
• Supervises line staff in absence of Sous Chef; follows standardized recipes.
• Prepares menu items on hot line with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
• Assists in other kitchen areas as instructed by Sous Chef.
• Stores perishable foods properly and refrigerates after service.
• Cleans station and follows closing instructions.
• Leads daily task completion within the department.

As a Line Cook, you will:

Pay: U p to $21/hour based on experience and progression | Shift: Varies

• Reports to Sous Chef at start of shift to receive instruction as to daily specials and menu changes.
• Supervises and directs line staff in absence of Sous Chef. Prepares recipe per standardized recipes and production sheets.
• Prepares plate menu items, as ordered, per specifications on hot food production line with strict attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. s.
• Assists in other areas of kitchen as instructed by Sous Chef.
• At completion of service, puts all perishable foods in covered containers and refrigerates.
• Cleans station and reports to Sous Chef for closing instructions.
• Leads completion of daily tasks within the department or work unit.

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, Word).
• Must be able to read and write in English and have good verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, fractions, decimals, percentages, etc.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must be able to obtain ServSafe.
• Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
