Flying Fish Public Market & Grill is Myrtle Beach’s most unique waterfront dining experience, featuring local seafood, Lowcountry favorites and a raw bar with a variety of shellfish and sushi. Inspired by the Pearlz Oyster Bar concept and Seattle’s Pike’s Place Public Market, Flying Fish is part-restaurant, part-seafood market. Flying Fish Public Market & Grill in Myrtle Beach, SC is now hiring aLine Cook.

The Homegrown Hospitality Group is looking for aLine Cookwith a passion for food and a desire to learn. Must have strong knife skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a team-player attitude.

The Homegrown Hospitality Group consists of 9 different business concepts and over 15 locations located throughout South Carolina in Charleston, Columbia, and Myrtle Beach. Multiple concepts, multiple locations, one big family!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and standards.
  • Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete closing duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking.
  • Follow portion control and waste reduction guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all Team Members and managers
  • Work as a contributing member of a team
  • Exceed our Guest’s expectations every day by achieving the highest level of satisfaction with an extraordinary focus on friendly service, food, fun, and value
  • Polite vendor interaction with delivery personnel for food, linen, chemical, pest control, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required: Must be 18 years of age
  • Preferred: Prior experience working in a restaurant or retail setting
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation, food safety, and security procedures
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in time management and organization with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and execute team and company objectives
  • Knowledge of specs, cook times, plate presentation, etc.
  • Adheres to ticket order management system
  • Comply with all specs, quality standards, and department rules and procedures
  • Take direction from outside and inside Expo
  • Ability to follow specific service time and guidelines
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time
  • Must be reliable and dependable by adhering to a schedule, covering shifts as necessary, and being on time for scheduled shifts
SALARY RANGE

$15 - $18 / Hourly
