As a Food and Beverage Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals according to recipes and standards, maintaining a clean and sanitized work area, and exhibiting excellent food presentation and garnishing skills to exceed guest expectations and foster repeat business.
Primary Responsibilities
- Set up stations and gather all necessary misenplais to prepare menu items for service.
- Weigh and measure ingredients accurately.
- Prepare a variety of foods including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold items.
- Prepare sauces and garnishes for your station.
- Store all food items properly, following safe food-handling procedures.
- Inform the chef of potential shortages in advance.
- Serve food according to the establishment's standards.
- Ensure food is at the correct temperature for safety and presentation.
- Taste all food items for quality before serving.
- Use food preparation tools correctly, following manufacturer instructions.
- Close the kitchen properly, following the closing checklist.
- Keep work areas organized and sanitized at all times.
- Store all products appropriately, keeping storage areas tidy.
- Practice safe and hygienic food handling consistently.
- Return used utensils to proper areas after use.
- Assist staff with additional duties as assigned.
- Clean the kitchen before and after shifts, sanitize refrigerators and storerooms.
- Operate and maintain kitchen appliances.
- Maintain records and generate reports as needed.
- Order and receive food and supplies.
- Report any issues with equipment or facilities to management.
- Maintain positive relationships with staff, guests, and supervisors.
- Perform all other duties as requested by supervisors/managers.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent vocational training.
- Strong communication skills.
- Positive attitude and personality.
- Attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and ability to work independently.
- Punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Interpersonal skills to work well with others and the public.
- Proper food safety training and certification as required by law.
- Ability to cook and prepare all menu items according to Chef standards.
- Maintain sufficient stock levels on the line.
- Ensure a clean and sanitary work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Professionalism at all times.
