Job summary

Dave & Buster's in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Line Cook who will prep and cook menu items to recipe standards, uphold safety and sanitation, and collaborate with the service team to deliver fresh, timely dishes.

Requirements include at least 6 months of Line Cook/Prep Cook experience, 18+ with a Food Handlers Certification, ability to work days/nights/weekends/holidays, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Upholding cleanliness and safety standards.
• Prepping and cooking all menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Help minimize food waste by proper portioning and communicating with expo.
• Partner with the service team to ensure food is accurate, fresh, and timely.
• Adhere to all health department procedures and safety rules.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, stocked station before, during, and after shifts.
• Perform opening, mid-day, or closing duties as assigned.

As a Line Cook, you are passionate about our ingredients, food quality standards and delivering a consistent Guest experience! You are an expert on our prep and spec recipes, operational standards, equipment and utensils. You're also dedicated to delivering the highest standards in safety and sanitation.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING DAILY?

• Upholding our cleanliness and safety standards (We take this seriously!)
• Prepping and cooking all menu items according to recipes standards
• Helping minimize food waste by creating proper portions, staying vigilant for ticket errors, and communicating with expo
• Partnering with the service team to ensure food is accurate, delivered fresh and in a timely manner
• Adhering to all company and health department food safety procedures
• Properly and safely operating kitchen equipment
• Maintaining a clean and stocked station before, during and after each shift
• Performing opening, mid-day or closing duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Must have at least 6 months of Line Cook and/or Prep Cook experience
• 18 + years of age; Food Handlers Certification, as required
• Comply with the company uniform standards
• Always be ready to create a memorable guest experience
• Teamwork is a must (Remember, teamwork makes the dream work!)
• Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
• Can effectively communicate with Management, Team Members, and Guests
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays (subject to business needs)
