Job summary

Verdana Village Master Association in Estero, FL is seeking a full-time Line Cook to join a fast-paced, hospitality-focused property operated by Troon. You will prepare a variety of dishes for restaurant and banquet operations, maintain high sanitation standards, and support kitchen operations while learning and growing within a global leader in golf and community management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Food Safety and Sanitation Training as a certificate.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food for restaurant and banquet operations according to production plan.
• Utilizes whole food products and minimizes waste.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas.
• Alerts supervisor to equipment issues, food overages, or shortages.
• Requisitions inventory and receives supplies for daily production.
• Ensures proper storage, dating and rotation of food items.
• Adheres to safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part ofTroon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

General Purpose:

Prepares various food products for restaurant and banquet operations, guest consumption and enjoyment.

Essential Duties:

• Prepares sufficient quantities of food product in accordance to production plan or forecast needs.
• Utilizes whole food products eliminating any waste.
• Maintains overall cleanliness and sanitation standards in assigned areas.
• Alerts chef or supervisor of any equipment breakdowns, food overages, or shortages in a timely manner
• Requisitions inventory and receive supplies as necessary for daily production.
• Ensures proper storage of food items, wraps, dates, and rotates food items.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently stands, uses hands, talks, listens, tastes and smells.
• Regularly walks and reaches with hands and arms.
• Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
• Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds (team lift).

Environment/Noise:

• Regularly works in extreme heat (non-weather) and near moving mechanical parts.
• Occasionally works in extreme cold (non-weather), wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near toxic or caustic chemicals, and in outdoor weather.
• Noise level is moderate.
