Job summary

Evolving Solution Services is seeking a Line Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals to clients in a mental health and substance use treatment setting. You will follow prescribed menus, dietary plans, and sanitation standards.

This full-time role requires attention to food safety, proper portioning, and collaboration with nursing and clinical staff to meet dietary orders. Minimum one year hospital or behavioral health food service experience is preferred; ServSafe certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in institutional, hospital, long-term care, or behavioral health food service preferred.
• ServSafe or equivalent food handler certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established menus, dietary restrictions, and portion control standards.
• Ensure all meals are prepared on schedule and served at appropriate temperatures.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards in compliance with state and local health department regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, storage, and dining areas.
• Properly store food and supplies, ensuring accurate rotation and labeling of inventory.
• Assist in menu planning and recipe adjustments as needed to meet patient dietary needs or supply availability.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to ensure dietary orders and restrictions are accurately followed.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly to the supervisor.
• Support special dietary requests, therapeutic diets, or cultural/religious accommodations as required.
• Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training related to food safety, infection control, and facility policies.
