Role

At SSP America, our Line Cooks play a crucial role in receiving food orders, preparing delicious dishes for our guests, and setting up the kitchen to ensure every team member has the necessary products and tools accessible during their shift. Our Line Cooks enjoy working in the Back of House. Responsibilities include:

• Following all recipes and practicing portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items.
• Maintaining proper and adequate setup of the kitchen/station daily.
• Requisitioning and stocking all required food, paper products, and condiments.
• Handling, storing, and rotating all products properly.
• Responsible for setup, regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of machinery and equipment.
• Maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all perishables daily to ensure quality.
• Completing opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required.
• Ensuring the quality of products served.
• Performing cleaning tasks using standard products as assigned by supervisor to meet health standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills

• At least one year of experience in a food service environment.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders.

• Food handler’s permit, as legally required.
• Brand Certification, as required.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
