Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is seeking a Line Cook to expertly handle high-volume production in a fast-paced steakhouse environment, ensuring food looks and tastes as expected.

You will follow established production procedures, manage portions, and maintain quality, temperature, and presentation during service. A positive, team-focused attitude and the ability to lift 35 lbs unassisted are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs unassisted.
  • Experience is preferred but not required.
  • Be of legal working age and able to work 8–10 hours per shift.
  • Able to move around 80–90% per shift.
  • Operate and handle small tools.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare or direct preparation of food using established procedures.
  • Follow standard recipes and special diet orders.
  • Plan production to coordinate with meal serving hours while preserving quality and appearance.
  • Portion and plate food for serving.
  • Label, date, and store ingredients to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
  • Maintain sanitation and hygiene standards.
  • Report necessary equipment repairs to supervisor.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and stocked throughout shift.

Job description

You will be an expert in the art of culinary production. You will become a master of efficiency, and precise in execution. You will know the specs and deliver plates that look and taste exactly as they should in the time frame that is expected.

A Line Cook will:
  • Prepares or directs preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems.
  • Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders.
  • Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
  • Portions and plates of food for serving.
  • Follows proper food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Label, date, and store ingredients tomaintainfreshness and reduce waste
  • Maintains daily production records.
  • Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards.
  • Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.
  • Keep work area clean,organized, and stocked throughout your shift
