About The Position

As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for enhancing the overall Resident experience through exceptional food production and control of the quality and quantity of all food items prepared in your station, including meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, desserts, etc. The Line Cook is expected to model The Sterling Touch professional, friendly, courteous, helpful, and timely manner, resulting in high satisfaction for Residents and their guests. The position is under the guidance of the Executive Chef, following community standards, processes, procedures, practices, and philosophy.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Culinary Arts or Culinary Apprenticeship preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen preferred.
  • Experience with scratch cooking preferred.
  • Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English to manage staff, complete requisitions, read recipes, and communicate effectively with staff and Residents.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, reach, grasp, push, pull, and work continuously without sitting for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges.
