Job summary

Starbird is seeking a kitchen team member to fry chicken, prep salads and sandwiches, and plate foods per Starbird guidelines. You will stock stations and assist with order flow in a fast-paced environment.

Evening and morning shifts are available, with weekends required. This tipped position offers growth opportunities and benefits including a language-learning program, tuition assistance, and free meals during shifts.

Qualifications

• Kitchen experience is required or preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Experience frying chicken and preparing salads/sandwiches.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced setting.
• Willingness to be coached and learn Starbird guidelines.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and move in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Fry chicken according to Starbird standards.
• Prepare salads and sandwiches per recipes.
• Stock and set up kitchen stations and maintain mise en place.
• Plating prepared foods following Starbird guidelines.
• Assist with order flow and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow food safety and sanitation practices.

Essentials of the job:

• Kitchen experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Frying chicken, making salads and sandwiches

• Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, reach, lift, grasp for extended periods of time. Must have sufficient mobility to move and operate in confined work area.
• Must be able to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs; place items on high and low shelves in office, store rooms, service areas and walk-in coolers.
• Must also be able to tolerate temperature changes in kitchen and refrigerated areas.
• Evening and morning shifts available. Weekend shifts are a must.
