Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is hiring a Line Clearance Foreman to lead a tree crew servicing the Medina and Lorain County regions for Lorain-Medina Rural Electric. CDL holder and climbing experience are preferred, with on-site work in Medina, OH and surrounding areas.

The role involves safely pruning and removing trees for major electric utility providers, mentoring staff, and operating standard equipment. Competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain.
• Line clearance experience or related tree work is required.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2–5 person tree crew in pruning and removal for electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged limbs; cut or remove when needed.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other structures.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and pruning guidelines.
• Plan, inspect, and execute job tasks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and other equipment.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Medina and Lorain County, Ohio regions for Lorain-Medina Rural Electric including areas such as Wellington and Ashland.

Job Duties

Lead a2-5 person treecrew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:

• Pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
• Mentor and train new employees

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement or willingness to obtain
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional
