Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer to join our team serving Medina and Lorain County, Ohio. CDL preferred, and a strong focus on safe, skilled pruning and removal for electric utility customers.

You will climb using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, work with a ground crew, and advance in a company that emphasizes safety and ongoing training. Outdoor office, travel up to 25% in the region.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is essential.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates, if required by state law

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
• How high you grow depends on you!

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer, CDL holder preferred, joining our team servicing the Medina and Lorain County, Ohio regions for Lorain-Medina Rural Electric including areas such as Wellington and Ashland.
