Johnson County Wastewater (JCW) is responsible for the safe collection, transportation, and treatment of wastewater generated by our community. Our work ensures that lakes, rivers, and streams remain free from disease-causing pathogens and pollutants harmful to public health and the environment. Minimum Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements, and an acceptable driving record are required.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Criteria may vary by department.
Preferred Job Requirements:
One year of experience with light, medium, or heavy-duty equipment is preferred.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
Excessive standing/walking, exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, chemicals, heights, loud noises, raw sewage, confined spaces, and weather conditions. Ability to lift and push/pull up to 80 lbs. On-call and safety-sensitive work required. Uniform and PPE use mandated. Department and county are essential services.
