Job description

We are looking for someone with a passion for food and strong time management abilities who can provide clients with an exceptional dining experience. Our restaurant is busy, and we need a competent and experienced line cook who can ensure that our meals are made precisely to guest orders while still following our standard recipes consistently. To work a variety of stations on any given shift, our line cook must be adept in poaching, braising, roasting, grilling, sautéing, and frying. You need to be a team player who can effectively communicate with other kitchen staff to keep things running efficiently. Responsibilities: • Clean and sanitize all workstations, including counters, utensils, cooking equipment, and the refrigerator, in accordance with health and safety regulations • Guarantee that quality food is supplied, by adhering to specified storage and waste control requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products • Set up cooking stations and fill them with all of the essential preparation items for a shift • Ensure that all interactions with visitors, vendors and colleagues are conducted in a professional and friendly manner • Prepare food orders on the line by cooking items to order, grilling, broiling, sauteing and meet all presentation guidelines and follow standard recipes LINE COOKING / PREPPING • Cook all food to the standard of the kitchen • Complete daily line prep tasks according to the line prep schedule • Complete weekly prep tasks with Exec Chef and/or sous chef oversight • Fully stock the station before and after service • Maintain the station during service • Identify low stock before it becomes a problem • Work in an efficient manner • Assist with the prep and execution of event and/or special occasion menus CLEANLINESS/ORGANIZATION • Maintain a clean kitchen/station according to all COG Health standards • Open and close the station to stated specifications • Complete Daily and Weekly Cleaning duties according to station guides • Organize Prep lists for the next day's prep tasks • Participate in special/additional cleaning tasks • Rotate product on a FIFO basis to maintain freshness Qualifications: • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers • We prefer some experience working in the food service industry • Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage • Must be a hard worker with high attention to detail and have a strong work ethic • Candidates must have completed high school or received similar certification such as a GED • General Kitchen Experience: 2+ Years • General interest in modern cuisine and food trends • Possess a valid food handler's certificate • Must agree toa background check • Must be eligible to work in the United States • Proven working experience in a restaurant or other food-oriented business • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills • Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff • Ability to keep a station organized, stocked, and clean Compensation: $16 hourly
