Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms in Tyler, TX is seeking an assembly line worker to debone chicken carcasses as they move down the line on the cone line. You will cut with a knife or scissors, remove parts, and follow directions while staying compliant with PPE and all company policies.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shifts in a cold, damp production environment. Day one on the job training is provided.

SHIFT HOURS

4:30 PM - 1:00 AM

SHIFT PAY

$20.10 AN HOUR

DAY ONE ON THE JOB TRAINING

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Primarily responsible for working on an assembly line performing one or two steps in removing parts/pieces from a whole bird on the cone line. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • Use a knife or scissors to cut and debone chicken carcass as it moves down a line in front of them. Follow directions and work in other departments as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, doing rapid and repetitive work in a cold and damp environment.
  • It may also include lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Ability to perform all tasks as assigned by members of management.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relative poultry industry experienced.
  • Basic math functions and skills.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC).
  • Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift.
  • Ability to be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 10 pounds repeatedly, and climb steps.
  • Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend.
  • Ability to work in an environment with strong, raw animal odors.
