LIMS Application and Instrument Support Specialist

Travel Requirements

The position is based in the Bothell, WA area region. No travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on‑site support for a STARLIMS implementation at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA).
• Perform operational support for STARLIMS and instruments/applications and scientific workstations.
• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers to install, maintain and troubleshoot instruments and instrument controllers.
• Work with project resources to integrate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and applications.
• Assist with site configuration and implementation of STARLIMS.
• Analyze and document user needs with end users and management.
• Participate and facilitate meetings.
• Configure and administer system settings.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of application releases, data changes, and configuration changes.

Minimum Qualifications

• LIMS and/or ELN Experience (preferably STARLIMS).
• Lab Instrument Experience (preferably support experience).
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Microbiology, Chemistry, etc.).
• Excellent oral, written, and organizational communication skills.

FDA Program Information

LabAnswer is pursuing a contract with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Office of Regulatory Affairs (ORA) for the continued implementation, deployment, integration, training, testing and support of FDA’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). We are currently working on the project as a subcontractor and anticipate a new contract in late July, 2016 for a period of 7 years.
