Position Summary
Perimeter College invites applications for a Limited-Term Instructor of Geology. The limited-term instructor position is a non-tenure track appointment offered on a semester‑by‑semester basis, renewable up to four semesters. This is a teaching‑focused role with 100% instructional workload, responsible for delivering 18 credit hours of instruction per academic semester (spring or fall) and maintaining weekly office hours. The position may be fulfilled on any of the college’s campuses.
Responsibilities
- Teach six courses (lecture and lab) per semester, in the designated modality (online asynchronous, on‑campus, hybrid).
- Maintain office hours and provide timely grading and administrative support.
- Submit grades, syllabi, and other required documentation to the department by the assigned deadlines.

Required Education
A minimum of a Master’s degree in Geology, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours of graduate coursework in the relevant field, completed by the anticipated date of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in the teaching field is preferred.
- College teaching experience—one year preferred, including experience as a teaching assistant at a college or university.
- Experience teaching online asynchronous and/or synchronous courses using distance‑learning platforms.
- Interest or experience in high‑impact educational practices, scholarship of teaching and learning, and building college‑to‑career linkages.
- Interest or experience in scholarship within the discipline and/or scholarship of teaching and learning.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods and to demonstrate knowledge of instructional technology.
- Ability to create a sense of belonging for a diverse student population and facilitate learning in both in‑person and virtual environments.
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and computer skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
