Job summary

Housing Trust Group, LLC is seeking an experienced Development Staff Accountant to focus on real estate development projects, especially LIHTC-related work. You will manage GL entries, analyze budgets vs. actuals, and prepare draw packages in collaboration with project managers and lenders.

The role requires 2+ years in construction/real estate development accounting, a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, and proficiency with Yardi and MS Office. LIHTC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent.
• 2+ years in construction/real estate development accounting.
• LIHTC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries for development projects.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare financial reports including budget vs. actual analysis and variance explanations.
• Prepare monthly construction loan requisitions (draws).
• Follow up with lenders for timely processing of draws and resolve issues.
• Review project budgets with managers to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
• Track costs and expenses against approved budgets.
• Prepare job cost reconciliations.
• Review project invoices for proper coding and documentation.
• Assist in audit schedules and support auditors during financial audits.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Coordinate with finance, operations, and project management teams.
