Job summary

Huntington National Bank is seeking an experienced LIHTC investment professional to support the VP, Equity Investment Manager in underwriting and project management for LIHTC fund investments with our syndicator partners. The role involves liaison with syndicators and CIC loan officers, plus diligent financial modeling and risk mitigation.

The team will work across diverse markets with a focus on underwrite, closing, and presenting thorough memorandums, ensuring compliance and strong deal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 6+ LIHTC experience.
• 4+ years of LIHTC (or CRE) underwriting and closing experience.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ LIHTC experience.
• 6+ years LIHTC underwriting and closing experience.
• Tax credit syndications experience.
• Technical knowledge of the LIHTC program.
• High proficiency in Excel modeling of debt and equity investments.
• Strong knowledge of LIHTC fund investment.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting equity investments for LIHTC funds and managing relationships with syndicator partners.
• Acting as primary contact with the syndicator during fund underwriting and closing.
• Financial modeling of upper tier benefit schedules, property grids and related analyses.
• Identify risks and develop mitigants; draft comprehensive memorandums summarizing transactions.
• Review fund documents including private placement memorandums and subscriptions.
• Own and track CRA investment goals and collaborate with Huntington CRA team.
• Coordinate with CIC Originations on loan opportunities aligned with CRA goals.
• Interact with Credit on fund investments and manage treasury tracking for syndicator relationships.
