Job summary

Boston Financial seeks an Equity Underwriting Analyst to support Originators and Equity Underwriters through acquisition and closing processes with developers and investors in LIHTC investment deals.

You will model, analyze, and perform due diligence while learning the equity underwriting lifecycle and maintaining high deal quality and integrity. Strong Excel and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or finance preferred.
• 0-2 years of related experience in LIHTC, real estate, underwriting or finance.
• Familiarity with affordable housing industry and LIHTC desirable.
• Familiarity with general accounting principles desired.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Ability to understand complex real estate and financial transactions, tax credit, and partnership requirements.
• Strong communication skills to interact with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
• Solid writing and active listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial review of materials related to perspective deal opportunities.
• Prepare the initial investment model and a summary of key deal features.
• Assist in the preparation of screening and investment committee packages.
• Support due diligence with financial and market analysis and review of required information.
• Raise concerns to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Coordinate and manage due diligence with third parties.
• Extended days and weekends may be required due to fast-paced responsibilities.
