Job summary

Merchants Capital invites motivated students to join our LIHTC Underwriting Internship. You will support a dedicated team with due diligence, market studies, appraisals, tax credit docs, and financing paperwork while building underwriting skills in Excel and financial modeling.

You’ll present final project results to leadership, experience weekly Development Days, and be mentored to transition toward entry-level roles in our lending and housing finance divisions.

Qualifications

• Sophomore year of college completed
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing due diligence items such as market studies, appraisals, and tax credit documentation
• Support in drafting sections of investment committee memos
• Populate the underwriting workbook in Excel using due diligence data and financial models
• Input property income statements into stabilization analysis templates
• Participate in daily monitoring of the team’s Google Alert inbox
