Job summary

Applied Technical Services, LLC is hiring a Lightning Protection Technician to inspect, repair, and install lightning protection systems on commercial buildings. The role combines field work with occasional office tasks and requires comfort with heights and travel.

The ideal candidate has a construction or safety background, is able to balance physical labor with documentation, and can operate hand tools across project sites in the southeastern U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–5 years of work experience preferred; will consider motivated candidates with less experience or new graduates.
• Construction background strongly preferred.
• Safety knowledge (OSHA standards) preferred.
• Ability to work in both office and field settings (approx. 60% field and 40% office).
• Physically able to lift ~50 lbs unassisted.
• Comfortable working on commercial building roofs and climbing ladders; working at heights required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, repairs, and installations of lightning protection systems on commercial buildings.
• Write detailed inspection and repair reports.
• Safely climb ladders, access building roofs, and work at heights.
• Operate hand tools to perform repairs and installations.
• Provide professional, timely communication with project managers and clients.
• Work independently and in a small field team to complete jobs on schedule.
• Travel regionally (primarily GA, TN, FL) and occasionally nationwide for projects.
• Follow OSHA and company safety protocols.
