Job summary

Grand Canyon University seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach Lighting and Visual Design for modern media productions at the Phoenix campus. The course covers lighting, staging, and visual projection for live events, theatre, and media; hands-on work with hardware, software, and projection systems.

Responsibilities include leading lectures, engaging students with current industry trends, and mentoring performance to prepare them for their careers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in production design, lighting for film or theatre, or related field with emphasis in live events/broadcast.
• 3 years of professional experience in lighting and/or stage production.
• Master's degree in a related area preferred; 3 years of college teaching experience; experience with multiple lighting programming languages; VectorWorks proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom lectures and discussions using innovative teaching strategies.
• Engage students with cutting-edge technologies and industry trends.
• Assess and mentor student performance to prepare them for careers in lighting and media production.
• Support the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission.
