Job summary

Grand Canyon University’s College of Arts and Media seeks an adjunct instructor to teach 3D motion design on campus in Phoenix. The role emphasizes hands-on guidance, industry-standard tools, and contemporary motion graphics workflows.

The candidate should hold a bachelor’s in a relevant visual arts field; a master’s degree with 3+ years industry experience is preferred. In-person teaching responsibilities and a portfolio are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in animation, motion graphics, 3D modeling, graphic design, advertising, or equivalent visual arts degree.
• Master’s degree AND 3+ years of industry experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Maya, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator; familiarity with Audition and mobile apps.
• Strong knowledge of the 12 Principles of Animation, typography, color theory, lighting, rendering, and motion graphics workflows.

• Facilitate classroom lectures and discussions using innovative teaching methods.
• Engage students with cutting-edge technologies and industry trends in motion design.
• Assess student performance and mentor classroom success toward career readiness.
