Job summary

Clair Global seeks an experienced System Designer & Estimator Lighting to translate client requirements into complete lighting solutions. You will develop BOMs, quotes, and narratives, collaborate with Sales and Engineering, and verify hardware selections using DaVinci System Designer.

The role requires extensive lighting knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to work across design, sales, and installation teams to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of design, installation, or related lighting experience.
• Deep knowledge of theatrical and architectural lighting systems.
• Proficiency with Lightwright and Vectorworks.
• Experience with high voltage (120/208V) power distribution.
• Ability to read construction docs (plans, RCPs, sections).
• Understanding bid processes and consultant specifications.
• Strong multitasking and deadline management.
• Team-oriented mindset with a drive for process improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with app-based communication tools (Outlook, Webex).

Responsibilities

• Support Engineering, Operations and Installation teams by interpreting requirements and site survey info.
• Read and interpret RFPs to prepare informed proposals.
• Collaborate with Sales to identify best solutions within client budgets.
• Author bills of materials, quotes, and functional narratives.
• Organize BOMs and narratives for client and internal use.
• Use DaVinci System Designer to verify hardware selections.
• Attend design and project kickoff meetings and review drawings for accuracy and intent.
• Draft change orders for contracted projects as needed.
• Respond to technical questions from the Operations team.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of new technologies and vendor relationships.
• Assist in creating technical standards and processes; collaborate on continuing education.
