Job summary

Target is seeking a Product Designer - Lighting at 1000 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis to help own the design direction for owned brands. You will translate concepts into tangible silhouettes using CAD and sketches, collaborating with merchants, engineers and sourcing to align with line plans and price points.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software.
• Knowledge of textiles, garment construction/fit or raw materials & product production.
• Experience assimilating product feedback.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in a retail or product development environment.
• Ability to build relationships to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Translate ideas into product direction using CAD/hand sketches.
• Prepare professional presentation boards with CAD artwork, fabrication and material samples.
• Support and drive product designs to maintain creative direction and price points.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers and sourcing partners to troubleshoot issues.
