Job summary

HDR in New Jersey is seeking a Lighting Designer II to shape architectural lighting solutions for high-profile environments. You will lead lighting design efforts, perform calculations, and help produce CAD/models and construction documents.

The role requires a bachelor's in lighting design or architectural engineering, 5+ years of experience, and LC certification or ability to obtain. Excellent organizational and teamwork skills are essential in our employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering specializing in Lighting Design or closely related field.
• 5 years of experience devoted to architectural lighting design.
• Lighting Certified (LC) through NCQLP or ability to attain.
• Member of IES and/or IALD.
• Strong computer skills using AGI32, eLumtools, Revit, AutoCad and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
• Active participant in an employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Work with project teams on all aspects of architectural lighting design.
• Train and guide CAD/model production standards.
• Support design presentations and construction documentation production.
• Perform lighting calculations, energy and economic calculations, and building certification credits.
• Develop relationships with colleagues and clients.
