Job summary

HDR is seeking a Lighting Designer II in the United States, Philadelphia area. You will work with project teams on all aspects of architectural lighting design, ensure CAD/model production standards, and support documentation from design to construction.

You will perform lighting calculations, energy analyses, and building certification support while building strong client relationships and contributing to marketing efforts. A strong background in lighting design and communication is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering with a focus on Lighting Design.
  • 5 years of hands-on architectural lighting design experience.
  • Lighting Certified (LC) or ability to attain certification.
  • Membership in IES and/or IALD affiliation.
  • Strong skills with AGI32, eLumtools, Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in sustainable design practices.
  • Strong verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams on architectural lighting design aspects.
  • Train and guide CAD/model production standards.
  • Support design presentation and construction documentation production.
  • Handle lighting calculations, energy and economic analyses, and codes compliance.
  • Develop relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Support marketing and qualification package development.
