Job summary

HDR is seeking a Lighting Designer I to support architectural lighting teams on diverse projects across healthcare, science and entertainment sectors. You will develop lighting documentation, perform calculations, and generate renderings under supervision, ensuring compliance and energy efficiency.

You will collaborate with senior designers and project teams, contribute to presentations, and help maintain accurate CAD models while growing technical expertise in lighting design within HDR's

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering specializing in Lighting Design or closely related field.
• Strong computer skills with core competencies using AGI32, eLumtools, Revit, AutoCad, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks
• Effective working individually and within team environments
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Responsibilities

• Work under the guidance of a senior designer on all aspects of lighting design for architectural projects.
• Prepare project lighting documentation, CAD/model production, renderings, lighting calculations, energy and economic calculations, and building certification credits.
