Job summary

Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, is seeking a Lighting Designer - Business Development Specialist in Milwaukee, WI. The role combines architectural lighting design with strategic BD, requiring frequent client visits and travel.

Responsibilities include developing lighting systems, plans, and specifications, mentoring junior staff, and leading proposals and client engagements to expand the firm’s A&E group. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or minimum years of experience in lighting design and BD for building engineering.
• Experience developing proposals for professional services.

Responsibilities

• Develop architecturally sensitive lighting systems for buildings.
• Develop lighting plans and specifications.
• Provide construction phase oversight of the lighting systems.
• Mentor less experienced lighting designers.
• Identify, obtain, and manage new clients/projects.
• Visit current and potential clients to understand needs.
• Lead pursuit of new private clients, proposals, and project scoping.
• Consult with leadership and marketing staff as needed.
