Job summary

Orsman Design, Inc. in New York is seeking a Project Coordinator to prepare drawings of architectural lighting designs for interior and landscape projects according to specifications provided by Project Managers.

Responsibilities include creating lighting plans, elevations, and details with AutoCAD; generating project documentation with Excel, Word, and Affinity; maintaining fixture counts; coordinating with procurement; and supporting project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; architecture or design-related field preferred.
• Experience in an architecture or design-related field highly preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office required.
• Willingness to build knowledge of lighting fixtures, electronics hardware, and industry specifications, and to learn to read construction documentation for lighting conditions.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously with excellent time management.
• Excellent communication skills, both with team members and clients.
• Self-starter, able to execute tasks with little direction
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Ability to interpret notes and sketches to deduce direction and information

Responsibilities

• Create lighting plans, elevations, and details using AutoCAD
• Generate project documentation and client presentation materials using Excel, Word, and Affinity
• Interpret and accurately draft markups
• Maintain accurate counts of fixture quantities and specifications
• Generate fixture load schedules and LED chart spreadsheets
• Coordinate with the procurement team on fixture orders, estimates, and deliveries
• Take electronic meeting notes during site visits and meetings
• Communicate daily with Project Managers on task and deliverable status, and support them in meeting deadlines
• Upload and maintain file organization on cloud-based drawing storage platforms and Company project directories
• Other responsibilities as assigned
