Job summary

Disney Live Entertainment is offering a Lighting Design internship in Orlando for January 2027 to June 2027. You will support the Lighting Designers in creating designs for parades, stage shows, and events, and assist with light plots, design intent, and documentation.

The role requires strong communication, creative problem-solving, and independent time management. Proficiency in Vectorworks, ConnectCAD, and the Adobe suite is expected, with a background in theater (technical) preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and self-manage time and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of lighting technology and supporting equipment.
• Familiarity with the Entertainment industry and a creative background.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Vectorworks; ability to learn new software applications as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Development of inspired lighting designs for live shows, parades, stage shows, and events.
• Support Lighting Designers in production process including documentation, design intent, and light plots.
• Provide technical drawing support via Vectorworks & ConnectCAD.
• Assist with design and technical research.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, safety, production, and facilities.
• Attend and contribute to department and project meetings.
