Job summary

Disney Live Entertainment is offering a Lighting Design Internship in Orlando, FL for winter/spring 2027. You will support lighting designers with documentation, light plots and design intent while learning Disney standards and practices.

Ideal applicants are juniors/seniors or graduate students in theater (technical) with strong communication, problem-solving, and a passion for lighting technology and the entertainment industry.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a theater (technical) degree or related field.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Able to manage time and responsibilities independently.
• Knowledge of lighting technology and supporting equipment.
• Familiarity with the Entertainment industry and a creative background.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Vectorworks, Illustrator; able to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Support Lighting Designers in the production process including documenting design intent and light plots.
• Provide technical drawing support via Vectorworks & ConnectCAD.
• Assist with design and technical research.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, safety, production, and facilities.
• Attend and contribute to department and project meetings.
• Help ensure Disney standards are reflected across materials.
