Job summary

KMCC is looking for a light technician to join the team onboard cruise ships. The role involves programming and maintaining the lighting, show control, and fog systems for entertainment venues. The successful candidate will support the Production Manager and ensure safety standards are upheld.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of hands-on experience with live performance lighting and familiarity with systems such as the Whole HOG and Martin Intelligent Lights. This position offers excellent benefits including food, accommodation, and the chance to travel while working.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience with hands-on programming and operation of live performance lighting.
• Must have experience with Whole HOG 3 or 4 – or GrandMA & ETC.
• Experience with Martin Intelligent Lights – especially MAC series is required.

Responsibilities

• Program, operate and maintain the lighting systems for various entertainment events.
• Assist the Production Manager with operating equipment for entertainment.
• Run automated shows ensuring correct time code distribution.

Skills

Job Description

The light technician is responsible for the programming, operating and maintenance of the lighting, show control and fog/haze system in certain entertainment venues onboard the ship for a variety of events and activities.

• Assist the Production Manager with operating equipment for the daytime and evening's entertainment.
• Maintain strict safety standards, facilitate special group requests and ensure the lighting boards are fully maintained.
• Run automated shows so there is time code and TC distribution to various devices.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience with hands‑on programming and operation of live performance lighting.
• Must have experience with the Whole HOG 3 or 4 – or GrandMA & ETC.
• Must have experience with Martin Intelligent Lights – especially MAC series.
• Have the ability to do basic troubleshooting and maintenance on several types of conventional and intelligent lighting fixtures, scrollers, ETC sensor dimming systems, haze and fog systems.
• Basic knowledge of operating Pyrotechnics is a bonus.
