Job summary

Purple Line Transit Operators is seeking a Transportation Line Supervisor to join the operations team for the Purple Line project in Maryland. The role includes supervising LRV Operators, monitoring service delivery, safety compliance, and supporting training during pre-revenue and revenue operations.

Candidates should have strong leadership skills, knowledge of transit operations, and the ability to coordinate with field and OCC teams to ensure on-time performance and high-quality customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in providing instructions or directions to others.
• Five years of transit experience desirable, including one year in management/supervision.
• Experience in a union environment preferred.
• Any combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Participate in training to become a qualified LRV Operator during pre-revenue phase.
• Operate LRVs during startup and ramp-up to support readiness and service delivery.
• Mentor and guide future LRV Operators after qualification.
• Help develop training materials and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with Operating Rules, safety protocols, and applicable regulations.
• Provide guidance and conduct performance feedback for staff.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or higher

Experience in transit management/supervision

Experience in a union environment (preferred)
