Job summary

Transdev in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across a variety of vehicles and equipment. Paid CDL training is available, and ASE credentials are preferred as part of ongoing development.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and longevity of fleets with an emphasis on thorough record-keeping, PMs, and inspections. Competitive wage plus standard benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of automotive or diesel repair employment experience or combination of education & experience.
• Process, or willing to obtain Commercial Driver’s License within the first year of employment is strongly preferred. Paid CDL training is available for employees.
• ASE certifications preferred; ASE certification program provided
• Mechanic’s tool set.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.

Transdev in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Diesel Mechanics to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanics, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles. Paid CDL training is available to employees.

Transdev is proud to offer:

• Competitive compensation package of minimum $24.00 - $30.00 / hour

Benefits include:

• Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

• Sick days: 5 days

• Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating

Key Responsibilities :

Physical Requirements:

• The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

• Sit for extended periods (up to 6-8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

• Push and pull objects, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

• Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
