Guardian Fleet Services in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Light-Duty Tow Truck Driver for the night shift. You will operate flatbeds and wheel-lift tow trucks, respond to roadside incidents, and deliver professional service to customers under pressure.

This full-time role demands sharp driving, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work flexible night hours, including weekends and holidays. You are the face of the company, upholding safety standards and customer care on every call.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license (Class E or equivalent); CDL not required.
• Local residency near Fort Myers.
• Endorsements such as HazMat or air brakes are preferred.
• Pass drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate light-duty tow trucks (flatbed/rollback and wheel‑lift) to tow or transport passenger vehicles.
• Load, secure, and transport vehicles in accordance with company and DOT safety standards.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding job status, delays, hazards, and customer needs.
• Provide professional customer service, including explaining procedures and ensuring customer safety.
• Complete required paperwork, digital logs, and service documentation accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized truck and equipment.
• Respond to calls during nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Position Summary

The Light-Duty Tow Truck Driver is the frontline hero customers count on when everything goes wrong. From operating flatbeds and wheel‑lift trucks to handling breakdowns, accident recoveries, and vehicle transports, this driver brings skill, confidence, and calm to every call. This role demands sharp driving ability, mechanical know‑how, and the physical strength to tackle hands‑on tasks in any weather -rain, heat, cold, or chaos. As the face of the company on the roadside, the driver delivers professionalism, safety, and exceptional customer service, turning stressful situations into smooth, reliable solutions.

• Operate light-duty tow trucks (flatbed/rollback and wheel‑lift) to tow or transport passenger vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age
• Valid driver’s license (Class E or equivalent); CDL not required.
• Preferred experience examples: commercial motor vehicles over 10K GVW, package delivery style, Oil or Fuel delivery
• Local Residency
• Mechanical aptitude, Haz Mat or air brake endorsements and CMV experience listed as preferred.
• Ability to operate tow equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to pass drug screening and background checks.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, pull, and carry 50-75 lbs. regularly (dollies, tie‑downs, toolboxes, vehicle parts).
• Operate winches, levers, and manual controls requiring upper‑body strength.
• Push or maneuver disabled vehicles in tight spaces when necessary.
• Perform repeated bending, kneeling, climbing, and crouching during loading and service tasks.
