Job summary

Guardian Fleet Services in Opa Locka, FL is seeking a Light-Duty Tow-Truck Driver to join our front-line team. You will operate light-duty tow trucks, perform pre/post inspections, and deliver professional customer service during challenging roadside moments.

The role requires 21+ with a valid license (CDL not required). Expect to handle varied weather, maintain equipment, and coordinate with dispatch to ensure safe, timely vehicle recoveries and transport.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age to meet company insurance and driving eligibility requirements.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class E or equivalent); CDL not required.
  • 2 Years Preferred experience examples: commercial motor vehicles over 10K GVW, package delivery style, Oil or Fuel delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Operate light‑duty tow trucks (flatbed/rollback and wheel‑lift) to tow or transport passenger vehicles.
  • Load, secure, and transport vehicles in accordance with company and DOT safety standards.
  • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding job status, delays, hazards, and customer needs.
  • Provide professional customer service, including explaining procedures and ensuring customer safety.
  • Complete required paperwork, digital logs, and service documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized truck and equipment.
  • Respond to calls during nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Ability to pass drug screening and background checks
Physical Requirements
  • Lift, pull, and carry 50-75 lbs. regularly (dollies, tie‑downs, toolboxes, vehicle parts)
  • Operate winches, levers, and manual controls requiring upper‑body strength
  • Push or maneuver disabled vehicles in tight spaces when necessary

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Perform repeated bending, kneeling, climbing, and crouching during loading and service tasks

Ability to safely perform duties in active roadside and recovery environments
