Job summary

Guardian Fleet Services is seeking a Heavy‑Duty Wrecker Driver in the Opa‑Locka, FL area. You will operate heavy‑duty tow trucks to recover, tow, and transport commercial vehicles and equipment, representing the company with professionalism and safety on every scene.

The role requires a valid CDL Class A and a clean driving record, with on‑call duties including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong mechanical awareness and customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to handle

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL Class A is required.
  • Clean driving record meeting DOT/insurance standards.
  • Experience operating heavy‑duty wreckers or rotators preferred.
  • Knowledge of rigging, recovery techniques, and load securement.
  • Ability to pass drug screening and background checks.
  • Strong communication and customer‑service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy‑duty wreckers, rotators, and recovery equipment to tow or recover vehicles and heavy equipment.
  • Perform complex recoveries including rollovers, winch‑outs, load shifts, and on‑scene operations.
  • Inspect, maintain, and secure rigging, chains, straps, winches, and towing equipment.
  • Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and report issues.
  • Communicate with dispatch, law enforcement, customers, and responders on‑scene.
  • Secure loads in compliance with DOT and company standards.
  • Complete paperwork, logs, and service reports.
  • Respond to calls during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized truck and uphold safety standards.

  • Perform complex recoveries including rollovers, winch‑outs, load shifts, and accident scene operations.

  • Perform repeated bending, kneeling, climbing, and crouching during recovery operations.
  • Stand and work on uneven ground for extended periods.
