Job summary

CoolSys PM Service Tech – HVAC performs maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across diverse sites. You will troubleshoot complex issues, mentor junior technicians, and ensure systems run efficiently to meet customer expectations.

This role requires 1–2 years in HVAC/refrigeration, chiller experience, and strong knowledge of electrical control systems. The position offers on-site work with safety-focused operations and opportunities for

Qualifications

• Valid EPA certificate.
• 1-2 years’ experience in HVAC, Refrigeration, or related industry.
• Must have chiller experience.
• Experience in troubleshooting electrical control systems is required.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of refrigeration equipment and piping of refrigeration equipment.
• Knowledge of computer‑controlled systems.
• Ability to read and understand refrigeration, electrical and plumbing blueprints.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good driving record.
• Ability to pump down all refrigeration systems and reclaim refrigerant from all types of systems.
• Good communication and presentation skills and excellent customer service.
• Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
• Ability to use typical business tools including E‑Mail, Word, Excel, etc.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Job Summary

The PM Service Tech – HVAC performs maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This position is responsible for troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, guiding junior technicians, and ensuring systems are running efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides service to the customer base by repairing and overhauling equipment, such as compressors, water pumps, air handlers, electrical and mechanical control devices in a safe, efficient and timely manner that exceeds the customer’s expectations.
• Provides repair work on refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment, such as air conditioning units, evaporative condensers, ice machine equipment, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors and electric motors in a safe and timely manner.
• Provides preventative maintenance activities for customers by diagnosing equipment malfunction and any operating deficiency of the mechanical equipment to ensure quality work performance for the customer base.
• Maintains proper truck inventory continuously and drives company vehicle in a safe manner.
• Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety).
• Perform s other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This job typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service and/or construction environment with need to work at heights from ladders and/or Scissor lifts.Mechanical rooms can have elevated noise levels.The position regularly works near/with refrigeration/HVAC equipment that can expose the workers to extreme cold from refrigerant and high heat from brazing operations.This role routinely works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.These conditions require employees to use the correct PPE and safe work practices.

Physical Demands

This position is very active and requires excellent stamina to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Employees are regularly required to walk and stand for long periods, hear, drive, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, use hands and fingers, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
