Job summary

H 2 O Innovation in Laurel, Mississippi is seeking a Lift Station Technician to perform preventive maintenance on lift station pumps, motors and controls, inspect and repair equipment, and respond to alarms. This role requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to lift 50+ lbs in outdoor and confined-space environments.

You will keep logs, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with the team to ensure reliable wastewater operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience with pumps, motors, and electrical systems strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in confined spaces/outdoor conditions.
• Knowledge of wastewater operations or previous utility/maintenance work is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair lift station pumps, motors and controls.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in pumps and control panels.
• Monitor system performance and respond to alarms or emergency calls.
• Clean and maintain wet wells, valves, and related equipment.
• Keep accurate service logs, reports, and maintenance records.
• Operate hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and power tools safely.
• Follow safety protocols, including confined space and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Assist with other wastewater system repairs as needed.
