Job Summary/Essential Functions:The Wasatch Peaks Ranch Lift Operator will be an essential member of WPR team, reporting to Lift Operations Manager/Supervisor/Forman. The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe and friendly operations of our lifts to ensure efficient transportation of our members, guests, and employees. The successful applicant will safely execute all daily task on hand while effectively communicating with guests and other team members to create a fantastic experience at WPR.Job Duties:Help create a fun, safe and friendly environment while working as a Lift Operator while embracing the adventure and safe lifestyle at WPR.Follow all safe working practices, responsibilities, and cleaning/disinfecting procedures.Adhere to all ski/ride policies. This will include Responsibility Code, designated trails, skiing/riding on and off the clock etc.Follow and perform all company and departmental policies and procedures including but not limited to punctuality, attendance, dress, and grooming standards, etc.Operate chairlift and people moving lifts in a safe and efficient manner.Provide excellent customer service by anticipating the needs of our members.Performs all tasks in a safe manner to completion.Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and learn new skills as needed.Supporting all departments through cross training to achieve common goals.Safely assist customers with loading and unloading of the chairlifts.Maintain a safe work area, i.e., chair lift unloading and loading ramps, clean/organized work area.Executes and maintains snow work including removal of snow in the pit area and cleaning off chairs at the beginning of each shift and throughout the day as needed. This may also include base areas and walkways to support other teams.Assist in any other tasks that may arise.Monitor the operation of the lift throughout the day and notify appropriate personnel of any problems or unusual conditions.Able to complete all documentation of all pre-operational checks and stop buttons before loading public and throughout the day.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Must be 18 years of age or older.Proficient skier or snowboarder.Ability to see and identify all dangerous situations, colors for coding, classifying, and emergency situations.Hear and distinguish safety warnings (bells, whistles, horns, radio, etc.)Must be able to make quick decisions regarding safety.Use two-way radios and emergency contact options.Give and follow verbal and written instructions.Visually inspect all areas for safety and risk.Operate equipment for several hours in challenging weather conditions.Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments, learn new techniques, collaborate, and share skills.Must be able to maintain control and a rational demeanor in any situation involving members and/or employees.Stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, turn, bend, kneel, and balance for extended amounts of time.Lift up to 50lbs frequently, 25lbs occasionally, 10lbs constantly.This is position that requires work in changing weather conditions, including sub-zero temperatures and high wind (50 mph +) conditions for up to 2-4 hours at a time.Classification:Seasonal, full-time, non-exempt.Education/Experience:Level 1:0 - 5 years’ experienceGuest service experience preferred.Must demonstrate basic competency in reading, writing, speaking, math and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team, and to lead teams in achieving goals.Level 2:Must have 2+ years’ experience.Ability to assist with opening and closing of the lift in conjunction with lift maintenance procedures.Guest Service experience is preferred.Must demonstrate basic competency in reading, writing, speaking, math and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team, and to lead teams in achieving goals.Level 3:Must have 5+ years’ experience.Ability to assist with opening and closing of the lift in conjunction with lift maintenance procedures.Radio communication experience and communicating with other departments.Must be a proficient skier or snowboarder.Supervising of lift crew.Guest Service experience is preferred.Must demonstrate basic competency in reading, writing, speaking, math and interpersonal skills.Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team, and to lead teams in achieving goals.Must be able to supervise all operator employees daily.Must be able to report all issues and needs to management.Position Expectations:Maintains neat and professional appearance.Member and guest-service oriented.Acts professionally and ethically, displaying sound judgement.Displays a courteous positive attitude toward all (staff, members, guests).Demonstrates a willingness to help others.Works well in a team environment and changing environment.Must be aware and able to abide by safety practices.Reliable and predictable attendance.Observes personal cleanliness rules and maintains uniform.Ability to follow policies and procedures as outlined in the handbook.Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
