Job summary

Powder Mountain is seeking a Lift Operator I & II to run daily lift operations, ensure guest safety, and provide exceptional service in a high-altitude environment. You will load and unload guests, monitor equipment, and assist with tickets and information.

The role requires early mornings, occasional overtime, and the ability to work at 9,000 ft in variable weather. Seasonal full-time or part-time shifts are available, with a uniform and safety protocols provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience in guest-facing roles is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Able to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to lift 40+ lbs and work at high altitude (9,000 ft+).

Responsibilities

  • Operate lift and loading queues, ensuring guest safety.
  • Maintain lift areas, signs, and cleanliness in shacks.
  • Assist guests with tickets, RFID issues, and wayfinding.
  • Work with Ski Patrol on safety and incident response.
  • Shovel snow and maintain snow levels for safety.

Powder Mountain is currently building our 26/27 winter season Lift Operations Team! This position will ensure the safety of our guests and instill a superior guest service experience. This position will operate the day-to-day lift functioning for our public and private terrain.Job Title: Lift Operator I & IIDepartment: Lift OperationsStatus: Seasonal (FT & PT) Day & Night ShiftsReporting To: Manager of Lift OperationsTier I Key Responsibilities:Operate lift, set up life maze, load and unload guests, follow safety protocols.Alert Lift Maintenance and Lift Operations Manager when equipment fails.Partner with Ski Patrol for guest safety.Follow all lift training and procedures.Abide to Powder Mountain uniform, grooming, and conduct code.Exemplify a cheerful outlook and willingness to assist guests of all ages and abilities.Maintain the ramp, maze, loading and unloading areas.Shovel snow when needed.Maintain all lift signs (ANSI and informational).Ensure a clean workspace in all lift shacks.Additional responsibilities as needed:Welcome Guests: Actively greet every guest with a friendly and positive demeanor, setting the tone for their mountain experience.Manage Mountain Access: Efficiently monitor guest tickets and passes, ensuring proper mountain access while maintaining smooth and organized lift lines.Provide Expert Information: Be a go-to resource for guests, offering accurate information about resort services, products, sales locations, and mountain wayfinding.Resolve Issues: Skillfully address guest inquiries, troubleshoot RFID card issues, help with Bluetooth issues and calmly de-escalate situations when necessary, ensuring guest satisfaction.Maintain Safety & Efficiency: Monitor and maintain safe snow levels in lift line mazes, optimize maze layouts for maximum efficiency, and promptly report any emergencies or accidents.Operate Equipment: Utilize and troubleshoot Line Control Module (LCM), hand scanner hardware, Axess gates and understand our online sales portal to assist guests effectively.Navigate the Mountain: Safely ski or snowboard designated routes to and from assigned chairlifts.Tier II Job Performance Expectations:Has a thorough understanding of multiple types of lifts and can be used at any of the 5 types of lifts present at Powder Mountain.Requirements and/or Qualifications:Experience working in a guest facing role.Desire to be positive and motivated during busy season and inclement weather.Desire to work at 9,000ft in exposed weather conditions.Ability to work early mornings for lift start up.Communicate professionally with all Powder Mountain departments.Be polite and friendly to team members, other departments, and guests.18 years of age or older.Ability to work occasional overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as requested.Great attitude, positive mindset.Ability to ski/snowboard to all lifts located throughout Powder Mountain.Physical Requirements:Full range of body movementsReach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40+lbs)Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twistingWalk on even/uneven/slippery terrainClimb/descend stairs/laddersManual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basisSafely handle hazardous materialsWorking Environment:Work is performed primarily outside and is exposed to extreme temperatures, sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice), high altitudes (9,000ft+), noise, and moving machines/equipment.
