Mt. Hood Meadows in Oregon is hiring a Lift Operator to help guests ride safely and efficiently. You will operate lifts, monitor loading zones, communicate with guests and teammates, and adapt to changing weather and conditions.

Ideal candidates are outdoorsy, enjoy helping people, and can work weekends and holidays during the winter season. This is a part- or full-time, seasonal role with housing and employee perks.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with guests and team members.
• Ability to stand outdoors in varying weather up to 10 hours.
• Snow removal and snow work as needed.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Weekend and holiday availability during winter season.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability.
• Previous lift operations experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned lift and monitor loading areas.
• Assist guests with loading/unloading and keep station ready.
• Communicate with guests and team; respond to weather/operational changes.
• Maintain lift stations and perform snow removal as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and emergency protocols.
• Help manage guest traffic and support a positive mountain experience.

Position Overview

Be part of the team that gets everyone up the mountain! As a Lift Operator at Mt. Hood Meadows, you’ll play a key role in creating safe, efficient, and memorable experiences for our guests. From helping guests load and unload to operating the lift and keeping your station ready for the day, you’ll be one of the friendly faces that helps set the tone for a great day on the mountain.

You’ll operate your assigned lift, monitor loading and unloading areas, communicate with guests and your team, and respond appropriately to changing weather, snow, and operational conditions. You’ll also help maintain lift stations, remove snow, manage guest traffic, and follow established operational and emergency procedures. This is a hands-on position where safety, awareness, communication, and good judgment matter every day.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members
• Ability to stand and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for up to 10 hours per shift
• Able to provide effective snow removal and snow work as needed
• Able to work effectively in a team environment
• Must be able to commit to working weekends and holidays during the winter season
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business
• Advanced level skier or snowboarder to be able to work at North Side or upper mountain lifts

• Previous lift operations experience

• Starting Wage: $18.99
