Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time teacher in Ohio to deliver LifeWise classes for grades 6-12 using the LifeWise curriculum. Candidates should have a mature Christian faith and experience in teaching within school or church settings, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The role requires attending annual LifeWise activities, maintaining records and classroom standards, and engaging with students through relational teaching and prayer.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience (with students) in either a school or church setting
• A mature personal Christian faith in agreement with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• Active participation in and commitment to a local church whose doctrine aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith

Responsibilities

• Use LifeWise curriculum to lesson plan and map curriculum customization
• Apply LifeWise policies, procedures and resources
• Implement age-appropriate lesson plans using LifeWise curriculum
• Invest in connecting with students through building relationships and praying for them regularly
• Cultivate an organized and encouraging classroom environment with redemptive discipline
• Prioritize student engagement
• Keep accurate student attendance records
• Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns, special needs and photo permissions
• Prepare adequate lesson plans, information and materials for a substitute teacher
• Establish a culture that fosters academic pursuits and spiritual growth
• Maintain a clean, well-ordered classroom
• Know procedures for dealing with emergencies
• Purchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by the program director
• Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
• Attend events as available or requested by the program director
• Maintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes
• Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes
• Submit regular updates, stories and photos to the program director
• Promote and communicate LifeWise's religious mission in all duties and interactions
